Co-founding Matakana Boutique alongside her husband Simon, Creative Director Amy Hope has long shared a passion for interior design and considered hospitality.

The story began in 2016 with Black & White Barn, a rustic and enchanting boutique retreat. Two years later came White Cottage, the iconic Matakana residence originally built by the Lovelock Cozen family in 1883. Amy and Simon lovingly restored the home, preserving its character while reimagining it for modern stays.

Years spent welcoming guests to the region have given Amy an intimate understanding of Matakana and a trusted network of distinctive properties and local partners. This enables her to create bespoke experiences for every kind of occasion, from luxury escapes and wedding celebrations to large-group stays and corporate retreats, with transport coordination available to make exploring the area effortless.
